Gallery of Works

This original creation is 23" tall. I sculpted his head with shoulder plate and hands from Fimo (polymer clay). His very bright smiling eyes are made of acrylic. He has a wide smile showing two rows of sculpted white teeth. He wears spectacles of acrylic lens with gold coloured wire. I made his wig from white sheep roving, his beard, mustache and eyebrows are made of Tibetan sheep wool. His body is made of stuffed (a little bit more stuffing went into the belly part) cotton with a twisted wire armature. I sewed his clothes but I did not have to plan for an original costume since all modern Santas wear a red outfit with white fur trim. His outfit is made of bright red velveteen trimmed white rabbit fur from a child's coat. He wears black leather boots. Hid feet are screwed to a square wooden base. At his feet there is a spray of small evergreen bows decorated with small fir cones and tiny dried berries. A red velvet toy bag sits at his feet. He remains with me, his wrinkled smiling little face brightens a little corner of my living room at Christmas time. How can I not smile when I look at him.
