Table Top Woodland Santa
This original creation is 16" tall. I sculpted his head with shoulder plate from Cernit. His laughing blue eyes are acrylic. I made his beard, hair, eyebrows and mustache from a recycled opossum collar. His body is made of stuffed cotton with a twisted wire armature. I designed and sewed his costume. He wears a pair of brown suede pants and a coat to match. The coat is trimmed with black tipped white mink at the front and collar. Under the coat he wears a wide striped red and black sweater. His mittens, mukluks and hat math the fur trim on his coat. He is wired to a wooden stand covered with brown moss and dried branches. At his feet is a small brown flocked deer, a snow covered evergreen tree, a hand made birch bird house on a stand, a small hand made snow man as well as a basket of holly with little red berries. In his left hand he holds a string of tiny hand made grapevine wreaths. In his right hand he holds a sting of very small rusted sleigh bells. His big smile shows a row of tiny white teeth. He is a joyful looking little guy. Perhaps because of his smile and ruddy complexion, I wish I had had a small earthenware mug of mulled cider to put in one of his hands. After all he has to keep warm it is very cold in the woods.
